How often should my pool be serviced?
For most Fort Myers pools, weekly service is the sweet spot. Our warm climate means near year-round swimming, but it also fuels fast algae growth and shifting water chemistry. Weekly visits keep chlorine and pH in range, clear debris before it stains, and catch equipment issues early. Lightly used pools with little surrounding foliage can often do well on a bi-weekly schedule.
Do I need to be home during service?
No. As long as we have safe access to the pool area, you never have to be home. Your technician comes the same day each week, and you'll get a short summary after each visit noting chemistry levels and anything we spotted.
What's included in a weekly visit?
Every visit is a full checklist: skimming, brushing walls and steps, vacuuming as needed, emptying skimmer and pump baskets, testing and balancing the water, and inspecting the pump, filter, and other equipment. Filter cleaning is handled as needed.
My pool has turned green — can you fix it?
Yes. Our green-to-clean service tests the water, removes debris, vacuums and brushes the surfaces, then shocks and treats the algae before running filtration until it clears. Most pools go from green to swimmable within a few days, with no draining required in the vast majority of cases.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Periwinkle Pools is a licensed and insured, locally owned company based in Fort Myers, Florida. You work with a real local team you can reach directly by phone or email.
Is there a contract, and how is pricing set?
No lock-in contracts — you can pause or cancel anytime. Weekly and bi-weekly service is a flat rate based mostly on your pool's size and setup, with no surprise add-ons. Send your address and a few details for a quote, usually within 24 hours.
Which brands of equipment do you work on?
We service and install all major pool equipment brands — pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, lights, and automation. When a repair-versus-replace decision comes up, we lay out the options and costs so you can choose with full information.
Do you help pools get ready for hurricane season?
We do. That includes equipment checks, elevating the equipment pad above flood level, storm prep visits, and cleanup and rebalancing afterward so your pool bounces back quickly.
